Buying Tip: Do you have to attend closing? No you don't have to be at closing. If you aren't able to attend then the closing docs would be overnighted to you. You would then have to sign, have them notarized, and overnight them back. If you do plan to attend then you would go the title company and would sign the docs there. Your realtor would be there as well. If it is a foreclosure the seller's representative wouldn't be attending. If it is a regular sale then normally the seller and seller's realtor would be attending. For most closings you would pay for the down payment with a cashiers check made out to the title company. Some title companies require a wire transfer. I help you through the entire process.
